Your local Police

Hampshire Constabulary is responsible for policing the two counties of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. As well as specialist units, there are three operational Areas, with each Area further divided into Districts. The Eastern Area, headed by a Chief Superintendent with headquarters in Portsmouth, is responsible for the Districts of Portsmouth, Havant, Fareham and Gosport.

"J" District (Havant), commanded by a Chief Inspector, has its Headquarters at Waterlooville Police Station.  The District is divided into three Sectors, covering Waterlooville (JW sector), Leigh Park (JP) and Havant, Emsworth & Hayling Island (JH), each led by an Inspector.

The Waterlooville sector, based at Waterlooville Police Station, is staffed by Neighbourhood Police Officers, Police Community Support Officers and Special Constables organised into three “Safer Neighbourhoods” teams, each headed by a Sergeant, in addition to further officers providing twenty-four hour cover in Targeted Patrol Teams, each of which is also headed by a Sergeant.

For full details of your local team, and how they can be contacted, please visit the Hampshire Constabulary website at www.hampshire.police.uk and follow the links to Your Local Policing Team.
