Police Organisation & Personnel
Hampshire Constabulary is responsible for policing the two counties of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. As well as specialist units, there are six Operational Command Units (OCUs), with each OCU further divided into Districts. The Central OCU (also known as “1OCU”) headed by a Chief Superintendent with headquarters at Fareham, is responsible for the Districts of Havant, Fareham, Gosport and Winchester.
"J" District (Havant), commanded by a Chief Inspector, has its Headquarters at Waterlooville Police Station. The District is divided into three Sectors, covering Waterlooville (JW sector), Leigh Park (JP) and Havant, Emsworth & Hayling Island (JH), each led by an Inspector.
The Waterlooville sector, based at Waterlooville Police Station, is staffed by Neighbourhood Police Officers and Police Community Support Officers organised into four “Safer Neighbourhoods” teams, each headed by a Sergeant, in addition to further officers providing twenty-four hour cover in Targeted Patrol Teams, each of which is also headed by a Sergeant.
